Eva Mendes is at the famous Cirque Lodge, near Sundance, for treatment of an ongoing substance abuse problem. The Lodge is one of the most respected treatment facilities in the country, with Lindsay Lohan and other stars as celebrities in their “guest” list.

It was made known that Eva has been at Cirque Lodge for several weeks already.

Eva Mendes’ rep said in a statement, “Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much-needed time off to proactively attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support. Out of respect for Eva’s privacy, we do not wish to discuss further details.”

A lot of big stars have substance abuse problems nowadays. It’s a bit sad that these same celebrities are the ones we look up to and try to emulate. But of course, nobody’s perfect. This just goes to show that fame and fortune does not make a god out of somebody. Celebrities are still susceptible to drug and alcohol addiction. All of us are human and can be drawn to vices that can eventually destroy our lives. What is nice to know is that these stars are taking the steps necessary to address their problems, setting an example for other troubled people to do the same. We can only hope for Eva’s speedy recovery and eventual comeback from this trying period in her life. Get well soon Eva!
