In the early part of her career, Eva appeared in different music videos, television soaps, and commercials before debuting in “Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror” in 1998. She recalls, “I was awful in Children. It was my first movie, and I hadn’t acted since being the fairy godmother in fourth grade. C5, as I call it, was a disaster.” She learned from this experience and landed a memorable role in “A Night at the Roxbury”, a comedy where she starred opposite Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan. She saw how the duo had fun while working and thought that she can also do that.

In 2001, she worked with Denzel Washington in the action-thriller “Training Day”. Although her role was small, playing Denzel’s mistress, it was enough for her to catch the audience’s interest. This role catapulted her into the limelight leading to more meaningful roles in “2 Fast 2 Furious” opposite Paul Walker and “All About the Benjamins” with Ice Cube, both in 2003. Later that year, she again worked with Denzel Washington in the film “Out of Time”.

Eva landed a bigger role in “Hitch” alongside superstar Will Smith. She plays a journalist who has her own ideas about romance but still falls for playboy Alex Hitchens (Smith). The romantic comedy was a box-office hit, earning a record breaking number on its first week. She has then worked with other big stars like Nicholas Cage in the “Ghost Rider”, Mark Wahlberg, Joaquin Phoenix and Robert Duvall in “We Own the Night”.

This super sexy Latina has had her share of big movie roles, and more roles are still coming in the future. She shows no sign of stopping in this business where only the tough survives and the losers go home.
